- Packaging needs a modification Review by Hugh
Our cats like the new US product better than the previous. The new packaging also does keep the treats fresher; however, it also does not protect the treats from being crushed as well as the old box design. We are finding the crumbling of the new product excessive. You need to wrap the product better for shipment. Much of our delivery is crumbs.

- Salmon Treats Version 3.0 Review by Aardvark
First, let's re-cap:
Salmon Treats 1.0 were great! All of my cats -- indoor and outdoor, domesticated and feral -- loved them. (We own and operate a cat sanctuary, with between 15 and 30 "residents" at any given time.) Then you changed your recipe? supplier? both? in response to a few complaints about production and packaging in China of the U.S.-caught fish.
Salmon Treats 2.0 were not a hit. Even the non-resident feral neighborhood strays wouldn't touch them. Neighborhood doggies, who usually take delight from poaching the cats' food, simply sniffed at these treats and walked away. "Made-in-USA" or not, these treats were bad news. To date I have been unable to devise a method or choice or comparison that will induce any animals, including squirrels, opossums, raccoons, rabbits, etc., to eat Salmon Treats 2.0.
Salmon Treats 3.0 have informally field tested between versions 1.0 and 2.0. That is, given a choice between versions 1.0 and 3.0, all cats in all "cat"egories (sorry, couldn't resist) preferred the original version 1.0, enthusiastically in most cases.
Bottom Line: My herd will eat the new Salmon Treats 3.0, but not with gusto. That's a major concern, in part because the cost per ounce of these new processed treats is about double the cost of fresh-caught lobster.
Long-term I see this new deal not working out very well.
